Two days into our literal around the world trip and after getting our body clocks reset within 24 hours we hit up the Auckland for our first day out and about.

We slept in bigtime and after aiming to get up at around  9am we got up around 11am and headed straight to the museum. After getting slightly, but not entirely, geographically embarrassed we wondered through all the exhibits, saw a 'cultural performance' from a maori group and just took our sweet ass time.

For dinner we hit up Auckland's casino and Sky Tower complex. We got the opportunity to see Auckland at night from the tallest building in the southern hemisphere and the views were fittingly spectacular.
The revolving restaurant within Sky Tower was better than expected and after reading their menus and mixed reviews we were pleased and a little surprised at how quickly our meals were delivered after ordering and the general quality of the food and service.

Tomorrow we are heading out on a day trip to some of the islands around Auckland and are really looking forward to Queenstown in a couple of days, which is probably when we will be updating the blog next.

This is the first post on our travel blog. T-minus four days and counting. Still so much to do and so many loose ends to tie up before our departure.
